FAQs

What is auto capture?

Auto capture lets the app handle when to start and stop recording; recording only the moments when you are actually swinging the golf club. Take as many swings as you want and each one will be stored as a separate video.

How do I use the auto capture feature?

Check that the camera is in “Auto” mode.

Setup your tripod at the proper height (between chest and waist high).

Use the built in level to get the camera level, then move the tripod until the alignment box is centered over where you will be standing and the ball is visible in the viewfinder near the bottom of the alignment box.

Auto capture isn’t working, what should I do?

Double check your camera alignment. You should be as close to filling the alignment box as possible without going outside of it.

If it’s very windy, make sure your tripod is steady. If your tripod has a weight hook, hang a range basket with some balls to help stabilize it.

If possible, avoid strong shadows and make sure the background (especially around and above your head) is free of trees or other moving objects. If not, try filming from a different location or angle.

Ensure your location is sufficiently lit. If it’s too dark the app can’t see properly. If you can’t improve the lighting, you can try decreasing the resolution and/or frame rate in the camera settings.

If you’re still having difficulty, email support at support@bitsofcocoa.com.

Does it support left-handed players?

Yes, both right and left handed players are supported. The app will automatically handle both without any user input.

Does it support Face On/Down The Line orientation?

Yes, the app will automatically adapt to face-on or down the line camera positions.

How do I draw reference shapes/lines on my swing?

From the playback view, tap the tools icon and select the shape you’d like to draw. Use the dots to adjust the angle/shape, dragging on the line will all you to move it around. Tapping anywhere else will hide the adjustment handles and expand the scrub bar. If you want to adjust them again later, tap on the shape to re-activate.
